*The Village East Conservatory of Music was founded in 1983, and is owned and run by Gregg Zubowicz.

A native of New Jersey, prior to founding The Village East Conservatory of Music, he moved to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to study at The Musicians Institute, graduating early to continue classical studies at The Mannes College of Music, New York City.

While in Los Angeles, he was fortunate enough to study privately with some of world's greatest musicians, including Arlene Thomas at The Musonia School of Music who taught the legendary Ozzy Osbourne guitar virtuoso Randy Rhoads. During this time he was also one of the only musicians who had the opportunity to study privately with grammy award nominee Yngwie Malmsteen.

While in New York, he studied privately with legendary producer Pat Thrall, (Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Spice Girls, Beyonce, many others) , as well as virtuoso classical guitarist Michael Newman (Carnegie Hall).

He as also performed and recorded with bands such as the multi platinum British Polygram recording artistes The Mission U.K. during their "Deliverance" tour, Fabulon (Chrysalis/Capitol Records, who toured with Lenny Kravitz), as well as many other local and national acts which performed at legendary concert venues such as the Limelight in NYC.

In November,1993, he was honoured to be the only musician asked to perform his original compositions at The United Nations World Parliament of Religions, Dag Hammarsjkold Auditorium, which was attended by World Ambassador's, Representatives of the Dalai Llama, and many other leading dignitaries.

Soon thereafter he composed the original score for the NorthPort Pictures film "The Ernie Pyle Story" on PBS, which featured President Gerald Ford, Walter Kronkite, Andy Rooney, (60 minutes), Charles Kuralt and others, which was also shown at The White House the same year. 

After composing the music for the sequel to the Paul Newman Film "Slapshot II" starring the Hanson brothers, he decided to dedicate his time to teaching full time and running The Village East Conservatory to bring the same level of Instruction that he had learned from the Master's in Los Angeles and New York back to his home  of New Jersey.

Residing in Monmouth County, Gregg now spends his time teaching, writing, recording, performing with several different up and coming artistes, and as the Director of Curriculum for all courses through the V.E.C. More recently he has begun consulting music schools, as well as other educators and musicians worlwide.
